Gertrude (DeBose') Hargrove

Gertrude DeBose' - Hargrove, 99, of Elm City passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday May 7, 2019, at Wilson House Nursing Home. Mrs. Hargrove was born on October 3, 1919, in Kinston, North Carolina, a daughter of the late James and Lillian (Hines) DeBose'. She and her late husband James Albert Hargrove, of nearly 59 years gave birth to their only prince Matthew DeBose' Hargrove. She received God in her life at a very young age and she truly love to praise his name. She became a member of Greater Praise Outreach Ministries under Overseer JD Williams, her son and daughter- in -law also attends. She completed cosmetology school in Wilson, North Carolina, and did beautician work out of her home.

Her surviving family: one son Matthew D. Hargrove (Jon'Tay Ward Hargrove) of Elm City; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Kanesha, Alijah, Olliesha, Josiah and Ra'zhanai; and three great- grandchildren, Jah'Merion, Khy'Asia  and Kamauri, Daughter In - Law parents James and Jean (Ward) Washington. And a host of other relatives and friends.
