Preston (" Uncle Doc") Thorne Jr.

Preston Thorne Jr.was born September 10 1926 in Battleboro NC to the late Preston and Mandie Joyner Thorne, he was preceded in death by his daughter Delores Whitehead, three sisters: Susie Faulkner, Katie R. Thorne, Blanche Byrd, three brothers: Sylvester, George, Percey. At a early age he gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Battleboro Baptist Church. He departed his life on Wednesday, October 18,2017 at Nash General Hospital. He attended Booker T. Washington High School. He was employed at W.B. Lead Factory in Rocky Mount. He loves his family very much.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories one son: Daniel Ward, Nieces: Ann Hines of Rocky Mount, Betty R. Thorne of Washington DC, Evelyn Thorne of Washington DC, Diane Bentley (Billy) of Bladensburg MD, One nephew: Ellis Byrd of Rocky Mount NC. And a host of other latives and friends.
